Dramaturgy based on the text by American sociologist Herbert Gans, which discusses the role of the poor in modern capitalist societies: they are needed to vote; to do manual labor that the rich don’t want to do; to be sexually exploited; to be sent to war; etc.
However, the show ends with the poor saying that there is one more positive role they can play to change the world of the rich, a role that went unnoticed by Mr. Gans: joy, happiness, and the possibility of imagining another world with a different future. And so they end, singing and dancing, dreaming of a new beginning.
