EVANDRO CASTRO NETO

Evandro Castro Neto is an actor, born in Brumado – Bahia, with a degree in Social Communication from the State University of Southwest Bahia and an MBA in Marketing from PUC-Rio. Throughout his artistic career, he has participated in several theatrical productions in his home state, such as “O Circo sem Nome” by Cia Mere Marrie de Teatro in Vitória da Conquista – BA. In Brumado, he was the creator, actor, and director of the play “O Canto de Iemanjá” with the Trupe Ubuntu (2021).
In 2015, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, and the following year, he joined the theater group Tá Na Rua. His most recent works with the group include “A Ópera das Malandras: In concert” (2023/2024) and “Zaratustra: Uma transvaloração dos valores” (2019/2024), nominated for the APTR Award 2024 in the Special Category, and currently touring nationally across several states with the Palco Giratório SESC 2024.
Evandro Castro Neto has also participated as an actor and communications director for the 1st and 2nd Amir Haddad Theater Festival (2023 and 2024). He has also performed as an actor in festivals such as Miacena in São Paulo with the play “Macumba Poética” (2024) by Cia Zona Comum de Arte Pública.
Based on his research of Brazilian popular culture and his experiences as a director in the Quadrilha Pé de Serra in Bahia, he created, in 2022, the collective Pé Na Lapa in Rio de Janeiro, which is currently touring the neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro with the cordel play “Diáspora Nordestina,” directed and written by him, under the supervision of Amir Haddad.
